De Koreaanse oorlog, 1950. De Noord-Koreanen trekken zuidwaarts op en iedereen wordt gemobiliseerd om weerstand te bieden. Onder hen ook Kap-jo, een scholier die is veroordeeld voor moord. Hij krijgt de keuze om te vechten in plaats van om zijn straf uit te zitten. Hij komt terecht voor een middelbare school, waar hij met 70 andere scholieren klem zit en de horde oprukkende Noord-Koreanen moet zien tegen te houden. Gebaseerd op een waargebeurd verhaal.
